Journey

Facilitated by Julia Callicutt

A Biblically-based Group for Survivors of Abuse

Our Purpose is to walk with women and men who have been wounded by abuse and provide a safe place for recovery.

Do you or someone you care about struggle with: over spending, perfectionism, isolation, flashbacks, overly sensitive, sarcasm, spiritualizing, anger, over eating, critical, poor self-esteem, indecisive, judgmental, workaholic, sadness, addiction, feelings of unworthiness, relationship difficulties, the inability to say "no", the need to cut on yourself, feeling you are "crazy" or "different", blocked memories, forgotten blocks of time.  If so, these struggles may be related to unresolved issues from past abuse...and Journey groups can provide support for the healing process.

Journey's Ministry team believes that Biblically small groups can aid in the process of recovery.  Because all abuse is a relational sin, healing takes place in the context of loving relationships.  Thus, these groups are designed to be a safe place where trust can be built, nourishment provided, grace extended, and the love of Christ freely given and received.  By applying oneself in the group process, there are opportunities to change and work through feelings in a safe and confidential environment.

The next session will begin in September, 2011.  Please contact the Randolph Baptist Association at (336) 625-4175 to pre-register.  There is a $35 fee to cover cost of materials. Groups are limited to eight people, six participants and two leaders.

Disclaimer:  This small group ministry is not intended to substitute for mental health, medical, pastoral, legal or other professional services.  If expert assistance is required, the services of a competent professional should be sought.
