Rev. Don. E. Ertel is the Associational Missionary and the association serves 20 Churches & Missions in six Counties (rural and mountainous).  Those counties are Tucker, Hardy (75% unchurched) (Population=18,000), Hampshire, Meneral, Grant, and Pendleton.

The main sources of employment in the area are agriculture/farming, and poultry farming and processing.  There is little or no Southern Baptist work and churches are small and struggling with mostly bi-vocational staff.  The average income per family is $27,000 with a high unemployment rate.
