Women's Missionary Union

Director: Toni Sharp
Assistant: Dawn Steen

PURPOSE:  With Matthew 28:18-20 as its foundation, Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), working through various age-level organizations, seeks to guide a church in how it fulfills the commission Jesus Christ issued in this passage.  WMU’s work in a church is built around six areas of missions focus including,

·   Pray for Missions

·   Engage in Mission Action and Witnessing

·   Learn about Missions

·   Support Missions (financial giving, supporting missionaries & families)

·   Develop Spiritually toward a Missions Lifestyle

·   Participate in the Work of the Church and Denomination

2010-2012 WATCHWORD:  “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”  (Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV).

WMU EMPHASIS FOR 2010-2012:  Unhindered!
